class="emoji"><b>🐘</b></i>，Long Jaafar 寻回走失的 Larut 时发现其腿上泥土混有锡砂，便用 Larut 为北霹雳内陆丛林而命名。为了开采矿产，Long Jaafar 父子相继邀请和授权华人矿户集团进入当地，包括闽人的建德堂，粵人的海山公司，以及义兴公司等。1857 年霹雳苏丹驾崩，政治纷争最终引发了四次 Larut 战争。<br /><br />Larut 内战结束后，太平得以重新命名。义兴公司和海山公司选择「<mark class="highlight">太平</mark>」作为新的城市名称，缘于这两家公司都是天地会的分支，双方自认相互有歃血为盟的结义关系，共同秉持尊重天地父母的理想，以缔造“仁、义、礼、智、信”的社会为目标。义兴和海山双方成员加入公司，宣誓过程都是模拟读书求知识、上船航行向“太平城”，寻找同志，参与推动理想的组织。<br /><br />在中文里「<mark class="highlight">太平</mark>」意味着极为公道、和平与繁盛的时代。这个历史脉络一直提醒拉律矿区民众，他们的终极理想毕竟是要努力拓各地的“太平墟”，也就是公道、和平、繁盛的经济市场，让人人过上幸福生活。<br /><br />太平矿区聚集了大量华人，也正因如此，最终这个超过四万华人居民的共同选择也被英殖和马来统治者所接受。</blockquote><br /><br />座落在太平火车站附近的<i class="emoji"><b>☕️</b></i>安东咖啡厂（P5-P6）是马来西亚历史最悠久的咖啡厂，其于 1942 年迁入长春圃（P7-P8）现址，保留了具有文化遗产价值的平层别墅<i
